Home' Traveller : Scoop Traveller WA 017 Contents AT LAST -- the ultimate on-the-ground travel guide for WA is
complete! Scoop Traveller has always been an exceptional planning guide
to the best travel destinations and operators in WA.
But it has taken us seven years and a huge investment for us to turn
Scoop Traveller into a comprehensive on-the-ground guide for driving
around WA. Introducing five new maps for Margaret River and three
new maps for the Great Southern makes a total of 24 detailed maps
complete with trails and attractions, accommodation, restaurants and
wineries, leading travel operators, beaches, bays and everything else you
need to know while driving around your favourite travel destination.
We have spent just as much time and energy researching the top 100
events from January to August 2010. This will be a regular feature in
future editions and expanded again in June 2010.
We were pleased with the features this edition -- although, as always,
frustrated with how much we have to tell and limited space! Despite
having an office full of active youth, "50 great things to do on the
coast" (page 26) made us all realise how much we were missing out
on doing on our extraordinary coast. One hundred pages wouldn't be
enough to fit in half of what's on offer in the Great Southern (page 68)
and the same goes for the great road trips around WA (page 54).
In 13 years of Scoop Publishing and extensive travel, the private
island of Ratua in Vanuatu (page 50) is the closest thing to paradise I
have experienced. If you ever have a chance, and the budget, to organise
a group of friends to spend a week there, you won't regret it.
The other big news is the relaunch of our website,
www.scoop.com.au. We are determined to establish this site as the
major portal for events, travel and lifestyle in WA by early next year,
providing a perfect complement to our portfolio of magazines.
So from all of us, our sincerest thanks to our loyal readers but also
to the thousands of travel and hospitality operators and their hard-
working staff for their passion and commitment.
It is only with their help that we are able to enjoy the great pleasures
that WA has to offer and with their support we are able to create
wonderful guides such as Scoop Traveller.
