Busselton and Margaret River Wine Region
For the kids
Among all the spas, fine dining restaurants and wineries,
in addition to the beaches, bush trails, fishing and many
other outdoor activities, Margaret River still has plenty of
attractions, tours and different things to keep the younger
members of your group happy.
Need to keep the kids occupied? Then
take them to The Nautical Lady
Entertainment World on Busselton
foreshore next to the Busselton
Jetty and let them run wild. Watch them jump
on the trampolines, race cars, slide down water
slides, fly high on the flying fox, and play a game
of mini-golf while you enjoy a coffee and a famous
Simmo's ice cream at the new Café Nautical. Some
new additions to the fun park include the mini
jeeps, carousel and jungle bungles, specifically
designed for toddlers. (www.nauticallady.com)
Mum and Dad can even have a go on the
electric cars at Busselton Archery and Family Fun
Park. The cars (also known as Ozzi Bugs) can be
driven on the fun racetrack by children between
the ages of five and 14. The park has an adventure
playground, mini-golf course, bungee run and
archery target course that is save for children from
five years and up. It is located on Bussell Hwy,
Vasse, near the Margaret River turn off,

Animals and kids, not so great on a photo
shoot, but the perfect combination on holiday!
There are plenty of animal farms in the region such
as the Sunflowers Animal Farm, five minutes from
Margaret River on Caves Road, which is a self-
contained farm stay and interactive animal farm
with over 150 animals.
The kids get to feed, cuddle and play with all
of the animals which includes sheep, lambs, emus,
kangaroos, piglets, guinea pigs, peacocks, miniature
donkeys, miniature ponies and many more.
Visit www.sunflowersfarm.com or call
(08) 9757 3343.
Also on Caves Road, in Dunsborough, is
Country Life Farm where children can hand feed
the friendly animals any time of the day. The
venue is open every day of the week and has an
adventure playground, merry-go-round, boat
rides and giant bouncy castles and inflatable slide.
Further down the road is the Yallingup Maze,
with bridges and castles for the kids to explore.
You are guaranteed to lose the kids for hours.
Or take the kids to watch a live show of sheep
shearing at the Yallingup Shearing Shed. They can
bottle feed the lambs, feed the sheep and learn
about shearing while you check out the boutique
full of divine wool products. Call (08) 9755 2309.
If your kids are a little bit older and feel like
an adventure, you can hire canoes individually on
the weekend at the Margaret River mouth near
Prevelly. All safety equipment is supplied -- just
look for the hire stands in the beach car park.
But if all this sounds more effort than you're
up for, how about getting someone else to organise
a family trip (including the food)? Book a tour.
