The calf and its mother, Surprise, are among those being studied to find

ICONIC NATIONAL PARKS
Facilities will be improved at WA’s national parks as part of a $20 million
boost over four years from the State Government’s Royalties for Regions
program. Camping facilities will be upgraded at seven national parks,
including Torndirrup and Cape Range. The funds will also boost the
Naturebank initiative, which promotes the development of eco-tourism
and low-impact accommodation at five national parks, including
Purnululu (pictured). Roads will be upgraded at Karijini and Kalbarri
national parks. Environment Minister Donna Faragher said Kalbarri was
one of WA’s top tourism destinations, so $5.8 million would be spent
improving a stretch of road that brought more than 30,000 vehicles a year
to spectacular spots along the Murchison River, such as Nature’s Window.
