GUIDE kimberley and broome
Narelle Brook, manager of the East
Kimberley Visitor’s Centre, shares her
top Kununurra activities.
Cruise Lake Argyle | It is an
incredible expanse of water
surrounded by spectacular scenery.
Camp | Anywhere along the Ord
River, on Lake Argyle, or along
the Gibb River Road at places like
El Questro and Home Valley will
provide spectacular views.
Enjoy a sundowner | Best while
looking out over Lake Kununurra, or
from Kelly’s Knob Lookout.
Fly to the Bungle Bungle and walk
the gorges | My favourites are the
Echidna Chasm and Mini Palms
Laze around a waterfall | Locals
know the spots that don’t appear
on maps. My favourite, Herbie’s
Hideaway, is only reached by boat,
then a walk via Lake Kununurra.
AND WITH KIDS...
Go camping | There are many
locations to choose from: we love
it out at Lake Argyle.
Kununurra Agricultural Show |
There is nothing quite like this July
Kununurra Picture Gardens | Get to
the drive-in and watch a movie.
Digger’s Rest Station | Take a horse
ride at sunset, and then marvel at
how the trustworthy horses get
you home in the dark!
Lake Kununurra | Go for a cruise
and a swim at Sandy Beach.

stories, contemporary experiences and representations of the unique Kimberley landscapes
including nearby Purnululu (Bungle Bungles). Open: Weekdays 9 – 4pm
